Psykick Dancehall & The Dentist presents:

SLOW READING CLUB

is the Brussels based duo of the dancer-choreographer Bryana Fritz & the artist-musician Henry Andersen. As S-R-C they devise performative reading encounters, but for tonight's performance they will draw on their individual practices to create a desktop choreography out of projections; stillness and a spoken, mutating litany of words in French, German & English. As a dancer Bryana has performed in the works of She performed in the works of Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, Xavier le Roy, and many others. Henry released his Stanzas LP on the Belgian-based KRAAK label.

BEYT AL TAPES

is Niels Latomme, the Brussels based musician; cobbled classic enthusiast and co-captain of the KRAAK label. His music is a sticky sauce of modulated clicks and trips; horizontal tape loops; guttural vocal ululations and low-key performance tactics. Among other things, he released You Are Now Entering Zimbabwe on Kerm, a record of raw disquiet and stasis.

MAZZARI/WHITE

Lia Mazzari lives and works in London since 2011. Her work encompasses sound, text, and performance. She is the founder of Silver Road, a non-profit arts organisation devoted to site-specific and interdisciplinary performance and music. In her musical practice she uses cello, whip, text and other tangible objects.

Tom White lives and works in London. His work traverses multi-media platforms including sound, experimental film and video, installation and live performance. He has exhibited and performed internationally and published many sound works since 2009 (Vitrine, Chocolate Monk, My Dance the Skull, Alien Passengers). In 2014 he won the British Composer Award in Sonic Art for his piece Public Address, commissioned by the South London Gallery. Performance credits include appearances at NZZN Festival, Rotterdam; Colour out of Space Festival, Brighton; Ende Tymes Festival, New York; Poesia Carnosa Festival, Rome; Spoken Weird, Whitechapel Gallery; MK Gallery; South London Gallery; Café OTO (with Graham Dunning & John Macedo) and a recent UK duo tour with Maya Dunietz.

HANNAH ELLUL

Hannah Ellul is a Manchester-based artist and musician working across forms, primarily in text, performance and video.

[Much of Ellul’s work starts from an interest in radical political imagination and the affective dimension of collectivity, in relation to overlooked histories or as explored in games and contingent formations. In recent work she has developed collaboratively-written texts through performance.]

With Ben Knight she is part of the collaborative project Psykick Dancehall, exploring sound across media: the politics of listening, recording technologies and the voice. Since 2010 they have produced DANCEHALL, a journal about sound and its others. She makes music as 1/3 of Human Heads and 1/2 of White Death. Currently coming to the end of a PhD at Goldsmiths, London, she graduated from the MFA at Glasgow School of Art in 2010.
